When Master Sword was created, it was carefully placed in an enchanted pedestal and was secured even more by building the ‘Temple of Time’ around it. Next, both the sword and the pedestal were guarded by sealing them inside a private chamber that was protected by a mighty stone barrier. According to the prophecy, the sword and its actual powers could only be unlocked by the person who would be worthy of the title of ‘Hero of Time’. Master Sword was safely kept in the chamber for ages, as it waited for the Hero of Time to fetch it and use it for its rightful purpose.

According to the Legend of Zelda the Twilight Princess, it was the wisdom of Ancient Sages that originally created Master Sword. However, there is no evidence of this because we haven’t been shown any sages taking a part in the sword’s creation during Skyward Sword. Master Sword is a beautifully crafted sword that features a double-edged blade and a purple hilt. However, there is no fuller and the hilt is also shown to be golden in some appearances of the sword.
