Legend of the Seeker Sword V3 is a live-action television series that is based on Terry Goodkind’s award-winning Sword of Truth novel series. The world in this series is divided into the New World and the Old World. The New World is made up of 3 main provinces; Westland, the Midlands, and D’Hara. The Midlands lies in between Westland and D’Hara. Westland is divided from the Midlands by a magical boundary that was created so as to stop any magic from entering the Westland. On the other end of Midlands is D’Hara whose ruler is Darken Rahl and is magically gifted. Seekers, Wizard of the First Order and Confessors oversee the wellbeing of the people of Midlands. Confessors are a group of women who hold a magical power that can force a person to become devoted to them. No magic prevails in Westland and it is ruled by a council of representatives.
The Old World is introduced in the 2nd novel series and is described in lesser detail. The main character of the series is Richard Cypher who is a guide of Westland wood and leads a simple life. However, his life changes forever when he becomes the Seeker of Truth. This position is similar to that of Confessor which requires him to sustain justice in the world. The series revolves around how Richard attempts to stop the evil that others bring about in the world. He adamantly refuses to sacrifice his values and wants to live as a free man. His nobility is slowly and gradually understood by the people around him.
